My first client as a guide was Polo Ralph Lauren when they opened their store at Place de la Madeleine in Paris in 1986.
That was my first experience as a courier but not my first experience in the world of antiques.
I was born and raised in the world of antiques. My mother opened her first antique store in 1963.
At a very young age I spent time antiquing with her at the professional shows and going on the road to see antique dealers.
In 1972 in Senlis, 45 minutes from Paris, in her store called "la Galerie 60", she introduced me to contemporary art.
She had this great idea of mixing XIX and XX century antiques and young contemporary art creators such as : Ruelland, Knoll, Champy, de Jongh…
In the early 80's I left France for the United States. I spent three years travelling and learning a new culture and a new language. I didn't know at this time that 15 years later I would marry an American photographer, or that my sister would own a very famous art gallery in Kent Connecticut, or that one of my brothers would become an antique dealer in Washington Connecticut.
After a work experiences in several antiques stores and another trip to the US to help a friend open a new antique store, I joined the Bachelier Antiquit‚s team at the Flea Market in Paris.
Internationally known as THE specialized store in French kitchen furniture and wine objects, my mother and brother (another one) had opened Bachelier Antiquit‚s 20 years ago.
I really started my career as a courier there.
